Jennifer Croll at Greystone Books has acquired World English Rights to award-winning journalist Angela Sterritt’s Unbroken, a brave and riveting narrative nonfiction debut in the vein of Seven Fallen Feathers by Tanya Talaga and Highway of Tears by Jessica McDiarmid and From the Ashes by Jesse Thistle. Based on Sterritt’s own experiences, research, and interviews with family members, former officers, and advocates, Unbroken follows Angela’s story as young mixed heritage Gitxsan woman surviving abuse and violence growing up on the streets in Vancouver, while simultaneously exploring and reporting on the larger story of Canada’s vulnerable Indigenous women and girls, many of whom are missing or have been murdered. The deal was arranged by Samantha Haywood at Transatlantic Agency.
