Debut author Alisha Emrich’s NERDCRUSH, a charming coming-of-age teen romance story about a Black girl who uses cosplay as a way to feel seen and escape the real world but who finds herself in a tricky situation when her crush starts to fall for her online persona, pitched as You Should See Me in a Crown meets You’ve Got Mail, to Britny Brooks at Running Press Kids, for publication in Winter 2023, by Laura Cameron at Transatlantic Literary Agency.

Alisha writes YA fiction about awkward Black girls finding their happily ever afters. She has always loved stories of all kinds, but especially ones where the nerdy girl gets the cute guy. Alisha holds a B.A. in English from Armstrong Atlantic University, and an M.A. in English and an M.A. in Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University where she has just completed her MFA in Young Adult fiction. Alisha lives in Richmond Hill, Georgia with her family where she is at work on her next book.
