Transatlantic welcomes Athena McKenzie! A lifestyle journalist with a specialty in book and travel reporting, Athena McKenzie now works in marketing for a Canadian travel company. For years, she worked as an editor at Page One Publishing in Victoria, highlighting local stories and creatives in a collection of lifestyle magazines. Before that she was Associate Features Editor and Books Editor at Zoomer magazine in Toronto, where career highlights included interviewing Salman Rushdie, and having brunch with Ian Rankin. Her writing has appeared in The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star and Elle Canada, and she continues to contribute book content to everythingzoomer.com. She lives in a book-filled loft in Victoria, B.C. with her partner, author Robert J. Wiersema, and two rambunctious ginger cats.
