Transatlantic is excited to announce that world rights to Sigmund Brouwer’s hi-lo young adult novel SHOCK WAVE for the Orca Soundings line, has been acquired by Ruth Linka at Orca Book Publishers, scheduled for publication in the fall of 2024!

SHOCK WAVE follows Jake Ballard when he agrees to pilot his uncle’s speed boat for a moonlight boat ride, and it sets into motion a chain of events that involve the threats of a bike gang, the military police and redemption for the girl who started it all. 

Sigmund Brouwer is the award-winning author of over 100 books for young readers, with close to four million books in print. He has won the Christy Book of the Year and an Arthur Ellis Award, as well as being nominated for two TD Canadian Children’s Literature Awards and the Red Maple Award. He is the author of the Charlie’s Rules series, the Justine McKeen series and the Howling Timberwolves series in the Orca Echoes line. For years, Sigmund has captivated students with his Rock & Roll Literacy Show and Story Ninja program during his school visits, reaching up to eighty thousand students per year. Sigmund lives in Red Deer, Alberta.
