We are delighted to announce that Jen Sookfong Lee’s THE HUNGER WE PASS DOWN, a work of literary horror set in contemporary Vancouver, exploring myths of the Asian diaspora, cursed doppelgangers, and the inherited traumas and silences that haunt four generations of mothers and daughters, has been sold to Diana Pho and Viengsamai Fetters at Erewhon Press, for publication in fall 2025, by Samantha Haywood at Transatlantic Literary Agency (US English). Rights also to Anita Chong at McClelland & Stewart.
JEN SOOKFONG LEE was born and raised in Vancouver’s East Side, and she now lives with her son in North Burnaby. Her books include Superfan, named a Best Book of 2023 by the Globe and Mail and Apple Books, The Conjoined, nominated for International Dublin Literary Award and a finalist for the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize, The Shadow List, and Finding Home. Jen acquires and edits for ECW Press and co-hosts the literary podcast Can’t Lit.
