Shaun has worked in trade publishing for more than 35-years as a book publicist; program administrator for the International Festival of Authors; and general manager of Canadian Manda Group, a book sales distribution company.  She joined Transatlantic — first as a member of its Board, then as a full-time agent — almost 20-years ago.

Shaun represents a boutique list of award-winning clients who write fiction and nonfiction, primarily for adult readers. Many of her clients have been winners and finalists for the most prestigious book awards available, including the Scotiabank Giller Prize, Governor General’s Award, RBC Taylor Prize, Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize for Nonfiction, BC National Award for Canadian Non-fiction, Edna Staebler Award for Creative Non-fiction, the Orange Prize (UK), and the International DUBLIN Literary Award (UK). Her clients regularly appear on national bestseller lists.

Shaun has attended the foreign book fairs in London and Frankfurt, and visits New York and Toronto frequently.  (As of 2019, her foreign rights sales will be handled by Transatlantic’s Stephanie Sinclair.) She is a member of the Professional Association of Canadian Literary Agents and participates regularly in industry-related panels and special events.  Home-base is in Petite Riviere, Nova Scotia, on Canada’s east coast.
