Tara Hannon

Tara Hannon is a children’s book author illustrator and creator of the comic No Sleep Lots of Love. Her debut graphic novel series, BIRTLE will be published by Andrews McMeel beginning in summer 2024. Tara’s illustrations have been described as whimsical, playful, and quirky. She works happily from her home studio in Crownsville, MD. where her office assistants include one overly excited dog, two equally excitable little girls, and three cups of room temperature coffee.
Tara enjoys creating art for board books, picture books, chapter books, and graphic novels. She is drawn to stories with humor and heart and is particularly fond of illustrating unicorns, dragons, and ghosts. Tara is passionate about body positivity, female empowerment and cultivating a belonging culture vs. a fitting in culture. When not illustrating, Tara can be found refining her playdoh skills with her daughters, consuming podcasts and audio books, geeking out over Human Design, or jogging. It is her dream to find a way to do all of these things at once . . . one day. She can rarely be found sleeping and I am okay with that.
