Sophie McCreesh is a fiction writer living in Toronto. She completed an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Guelph. Her writing has appeared in Peach Mag, Bad Dog Review, Bad Nudes, Hobart, the Minola Review, Cosmonauts Avenue, and elsewhere. Her debut novel  follows a young artist named Jane as she navigates her own understanding of the isolation, depression and the limits of connection through technology. Her most important relationships—that with another artist named Kitty and with a discredited therapist named Anna—begin to deteriorate as Jane’s personal devastation becomes prevalent. This grief translates to a desire to create outside her own medium but maybe more so outside the repetition of her own memories. The story follows Jane and Kitty’s respective artistic practices as they collaborate to show their work at a competition in England.

Sophie is represented by Samantha Haywood.
