Samantha Haywood, President of Transatlantic Agency, is pleased to announce the following new appointments as part of the administration team overseen by Office Manager Barbara Miller. 

Laura Cook is the Contracts Administrator at Transatlantic Agency, facilitating contracts and providing administrative support. Laura brings a wide range of experience to Transatlantic. After graduating from the University of Toronto and Humber’s Creative Book Publishing program she started an internship at Westwood Creative Artists literary agency. Over almost four years at WCA, the internship grew into administrative, contracts, and international rights roles. More recently, Laura was the Production Editor at Formac Lorimer Books, also dealing with acquisitions and author contracts. In addition, Laura has experience in administration at the CBC, online editing for Canadian Who’s Who, and bookselling at a local second-hand bookstore. During Laura’s upcoming maternity leave, Cody Caetano will be the interim Contracts Administrator. 

Cody Caetano is a writer, editor, and teacher of Anishinaabe and Portuguese descent with an MA in English in the field of Creative Writing and an HBA in Professional Writing & Communication and English from the University of Toronto. Cody worked as a Programming Assistant for The Word on the Street Toronto, and has served as a co-editor of Echolocation Magazine and as Editor-in-Chief of UTM Mindwaves.

Evan Brown is the Records Clerk at Transatlantic Agency, facilitating royalties and contract administration and providing overall support across the team. He is also a reader for multiple agents and assistant to Stephanie Sinclair. He has worked in publishing since 2012. Before joining TLA, Evan helped build multi-platform marketing campaigns for YA and Adult titles, including multiple New York Times bestsellers. He has also worked in copyright enforcement and digital rights management, copyediting, and proofreading. He holds an MA in 18th Century Studies from the University of York, UK, and a BA in Early Modern Studies and English from The University of King’s College and Dalhousie.
