Yasemin Ucar and Yvette Ghione at Kids Can Press have acquired, at auction, two picture books by Melanie Florence. BENJAMIN’S THUNDERSTORM, about a boy who loves stomping in puddles and as he plays he thinks about what he’s doing, in both Plains Cree and English, will be illustrated by Natasha Donovan and publish in 2021; and the second, untitled book, will publish in 2022. Amy Tompkins at the Transatlantic Agency represented the author in a deal for world rights.
