Danielle Daniel is an award-winning author and illustrator of four published books, including Sometimes I Feel Like a Fox, winner of the 2016 Marilyn Baillie Picture Book Award, finalist for the First Nation Communities Read Award, the Blue Spruce Award and NY Public Library’s Most Notable Titles in 2015. She earned her MFA from the University of British Columbia. Her debut Middle Grade Novel, FOREVER BIRCHWOOD is forthcoming in 2022, with HarperCollins Canada. She is the Founder and CEO of Mighty Village, a national literacy initiative to help promote a more inclusive society. Danielle is of Algonquin, French and Scottish descent and lives in Sudbury, Ontario, the traditional territory of the Atikameksheng Anishnaabeg with her husband Steve and their son Owen.
