Issa Kixen is an Anishinaabe Two Spirit Comedian/Producer whose roots lay in Couchiching First Nation, Ontario. They have travelled across Canada and the USA as a Comedian and improviser. They use comedy as a tool in dealing with racism, homophobia and sexism. They are the Co-founder/producer of WOKE Comedy Hour, voted number one comedian in the 2019/2020 Uniter’s top 30, featured on APTN’s The Laughing Drum, a member of the Bannock Babes drag collective and they are the executive producer for Minogondaagan: the good voice podcast.

Currently, Issa is a freelance theatre instructor  and producing comedy and drag shows online via zoom. They are a member of the newly founded BIPOC arts collective, Take Home which is located in Art Space. Issa is also mentoring two BIPOC comedians so they can learn how to produce comedy shows online and eventually live shows when it is safe to do so.
