Pete Hsu is the author of the forthcoming short story collection If I Were the Ocean, I’d Carry You Home (Red Hen, 2022) and the experimental fiction chapbook There Is A Man (Tolsun). His writing has also been featured in The Los Angeles Review, The Bare Life Review, F(r)iction Magazine, The Los Angeles Review of Books, and others. He was a 2017 PEN America Emerging Voices Fellow and the 2017 PEN in the Community Writer in Residence.

Pete’s current works-in-progress include: The Immortal, a Chinese American supernatural western set in the 19th century California High Sierra; and The Nature of Wishes, an experimental novel examining the stages of grief through the fulcrum of a tragic yet baffling death in suburban Pasadena. Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Pete currently resides in Southern California’s San Gabriel Valley.
