Jessica Anderson at Ottaviano/Little, Brown has acquired, at auction, World Rights to INDIGENUITY: A Celebration of Traditional North American Indigenous Knowledge by Deidre Havrelock (Saddle Lake Cree) and Edward Kay. Featuring historic photographs and accessible experiments, this nonfiction middle grade work details the countless ways Native inventions have laid the foundations for, and expanded, scientific and technological progress—from vulcanized rubber to kayak infrastructure, hunting technologies, astronomy, surgery, suspension bridges, agriculture, and more. The book is scheduled for Summer 2023. Amy Tompkins negotiated the deal. For film/TV inquiries contact Amy Stulberg, Vanguarde Artists (amy@vanguardeartists.com).
