Book*hug Press’s Co-publishers Hazel Millar and Jay Millar have acquired North American rights to Jess Taylor’s Play. This debut novel from the acclaimed author of Pauls and Just Pervs explores how creativity and the imagination lead to joy or tragedy, provide an escape from trauma, or create yet another prison from which escape is nearly impossible. With themes that examine where reality stops and imagination begins, and how our childhoods reverberate through the rest of our lives, Play captures the zeitgeist, and the hopes, dreams, anxieties and desires of a generation. Publication is scheduled for Spring 2024. The deal was arranged by Marilyn Biderman at Transatlantic Agency.
