For 13 years Anita was a high school English teacher, then worked as a newspaper reporter, and later a television writer, as well as a book editor, writers group director, a blogger and a seminar leader about writing.  She edited Danger Road and Feeling the Heat by John Contini, as well as created personal biographies by commission.

Anita has been a swimmer for her entire life and a competitive masters swimmer since 2004. She has silver and bronze medals as part of Team USA from the 2013 Maccabiah Games in Netanya, Israel and six medals as part of Team USA from the 2017 Maccabiah Games from Netanya, Israel. Her team, Swim Fort Lauderdale (SFTL) with over 250 members, has won 6 national championships and Anita has participated in 4 of them.
