Samantha Haywood, President of the Transatlantic Agency, is delighted to announce that Noelle Marie Falcis Math has been hired as Marketing Assistant and Agent Assistant. Noelle who participated in the BIPOC Mentorship Program & Internship program at the agency will be overseeing and project managing catalogues, social media, newsletters and contacts databases alongside assisting literary agents Chelene Knight and Amanda Orozco.

Noelle Marie Falcis Math (she/her) is a writer, educator, and cultural artist intersecting storywork and liberation. Most interested in visionary re-memory and re-imagination of histories and, therefore, futures, she purses storywork through fictive writing and movement artistry. She uses these dual forms to process the diasporic, decolonizing life, and how these factors inform her identity as a Filipinx-American of Visayan descent. Her work has appeared in Seventh Wave Literary, Kartika Review, Hawaii Pacific Review, VIDA: Women in Literary Arts, amongst others. She is an alumna of the Los Angeles Review of Book’s Publishing Workshop, VONA Voices, and Tin House Writer’s Workshop, and the founder of Gunita Collective, an interdisciplinary artists’ group centered upon collective memory. During the day, she lectures in Ethnic Studies, Asian American Studies, and Literature in Los Angeles.

Says Amanda Orozco: “Noelle has such a sharp editorial eye, enthusiasm for learning and excelling in the industry, and professionalism that I’m beyond thrilled to get to work with her. She has already made such a big impact on the agency in her various roles this past year that I’m confident that she has amazing things ahead of her as a future agent and changemaker in publishing.”

Says Chelene Knight: “While working with Noelle during the inaugural Transatlantic Agency BIPOC mentorship program, I could tell right away that she had a passion for publishing and a true gift for recognizing talent. Amanda and I built this mentorship program in hopes of creating equitable space for folks keen on learning the role of literary agent, and Noelle completely surpassed our expectations. Noelle is well on her way to doing big things.”
