Ardis Taylor is a writer of rom-coms and stand-up comedy. Her short story, “Evie’s Options” was selected as a finalist in the Columbia Journal’s Spring 2021 Fiction Contest. She would like to get an MFA one day, but is too scared to apply, because she’s not 100% sure what an “allegory” is. When she’s not wedged behind her laptop or driving all around the midwest performing at comedy shows, she’s hanging out with her partner and rescue border collie.

Her debut novel, KIND OF FUNNY, is an adult romcom following stand-up comedian Holland Bancroft, who has to move back to her small, rural hometown–the one all her material in her first comedy album is based on–after her life has imploded, in the vein of HBO’s Emmy-award winning show Hacks and the film Young Adult (2011) with the sharp wit of Emily Henry’s Beach Read. It will be on offer soon.

Ardis is represented by Amanda Orozco.
