Executive Editor and VP, Penguin Random House Canada, Anne Collins, with editorial assistant Lauren Park, has acquired English-language rights in Canada to Gwen Tuinman’s historical novel, Unrest. Set in 1830s Bytown during the height of the timber trade and Shiners’ War, Unrest tells the story, in four first-person voices, about the slow death of a marriage, a rivetingly taboo love triangle, a traumatized Irish spinster who becomes a feminist hero, and a rebellious boy who dreams of escaping the crush of class divides. Publication is scheduled for April, 2024. The deal was arranged by Marilyn Biderman of the Transatlantic Agency.
