We are thrilled to announce that Jessica Elisheva Emerson’s debut novel, OLIVE DAYS has been acquired by Dan López at Counterpoint (World English)!

Antioch University MFA graduate and progressive Jewish educator Jessica Elisheva Emerson’s debut novel, OLIVE DAYS, is the story of an exhausted young mother and modern orthodox Jew in Los Angeles’s Pico-Robertson shtetl who has lost her faith and seeks solace in a furtive love affair that brings her own needs into sharp contrast with what the world and her faith demand, pitched as Unorthodox meets The End of the Affair.

Jessica Elisheva’s stories and poems have been published in journals including The Beloit Fiction Journal, Midwestern Gothic, Crucible, and Anemone Sidecar. Her original play The Greys was produced at the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood. She earned her MFA in creative writing from Antioch University Los Angeles in 2010 and her BA in journalism from USC in 2001.
