WE OUGHTA KNOW: HOW FOUR WOMEN RULED THE 90s AND CHANGED CANADIAN MUSIC focuses on Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Alanis Morisette, and Sarah McLachlan.The essay collection is a blend of music and pop culture criticism, a feminist coming-of-age memoir, and 90’s music history. Publication is set for Spring 2025.

Andrea Warner (she/her) writes and talks. A lot. Andrea’s the co-writer and associate producer of the 2022 documentary, Buffy Sainte-Marie: Carry It On. She is a part-time associate producer at CBC Music and a freelancer with bylines in a wide-variety of publications including Pitchfork, Chatelaine, the Literary Review of Canada, Maclean’s, the Globe and Mail, and Exclaim! Since 2015, she’s co-hosted the weekly feminist pop culture podcast, Pop This! 

Andrea is a settler who was born and raised in Vancouver on the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations.
