We are thrilled to announce that Transatlantic authors Jean Marc Ah-Sen and Naben Ruthnum’s, along with Cassidy McFadzean and Michael LaPointe’s collaborative writing project DEAD WRITERS has been sold to Invisible Publishing for projected Fall 2024 publication (World rights)!

DEAD WRITERS features novella-length stories, four Faustian bargain narratives, following a biographer surveying the life of a controversial literary figure, a lovelorn journalist entering into a covenant with a stranger, a tourist’s struggle to stay sober through her Sicilian holiday, and a poet who is complicit in a grievous colonial scandal.

Jean Marc Ah-Sen is the author of Grand Menteur, In the Beggarly Style of Imitation, a finalist for the Toronto Book Awards, and one of the participants in the collaborative omnibus novel Disintegration in Four Parts. The National Post hailed his writing as “an inventive escape from the conventional.” The Walrus magazine wrote that “at a time when writers – and writers of colour in particular – are described as being voices rather than having them, Ah-Sen offers a vision of the self that is compulsively creative and ecstatically pervious to the world.” His writing has appeared in Hazlitt, The Literary Review of Canada, Maisonneuve, and elsewhere.

Award-winning author and screenwriter Naben Ruthnum’s first novel Find You in the Dark, was an instant bestseller, an Arthur Ellis Awards finalist for Best First Novel and optioned for TV by eOne and sold in the UK/ANZ, Germany, and Spain. His second thriller, Your Life Is Mine, was also an instant bestseller. He is the author of the narrative nonfiction book CURRY: Eating, Reading, and Race, and his debut literary fiction novel A HERO OF OUR TIME was released by M&S Penguin Random House Canada in 2022. His horror novella HELPMEET was recently optioned for film, and his debut YA novel THE GRIMMER is forthcoming with ECW Press in 2023. He has written for television and has features in development.
