Acclaimed cartoonist Scott Chantler’s SQUIRE & KNIGHT: WAYWARD TRAVELERS is a Junior Library Guild selection!

Every year, JLG’s renowned editors curate selections for 80+ reading level and genre categories. All Librarian’s have to do is simply subscribe to the categories they’d like JLG’s help developing and, voila!, they’ll receive brand-new books in those categories every month, all year long.

And now SQUIRE & KNIGHT: WAYWARD TRAVELERS has been curated as one of those exciting books available!

SQUIRE & KNIGHT is the second volume of this middle-grade graphic novel series, where our heroes search for the mysterious school of wizardry, but are thwarted at every turn by thick mist, winding woods and fearsome creatures!

Our heroes are lost.

Squire and Sir Kelton have promised to get Cade to the school of wizardry. Strangely though, the path they’ve taken has brought them into a bewildering, misty forest, rife with fearsome gnolls and a boisterous rival knight. To get them out, Squire tries every trick in the book, but books don’t hold all the answers. Can he muster up his confidence, remember his duties, and find a way to escape the forest?

Scott Chantler is the creator of the critically-acclaimed graphic novels SQUIRE & KNIGHT, BIX, and TWO GENERALS, which was nominated for two Eisner Awards, selected for Best American Comics 2012, and voted by CBC’s Canada Reads as one of the 40 best Canadian non-fiction books of all time. His other work includes NORTHWEST PASSAGE (nominated for Eisner and Harvey Awards) and the THREE THIEVES series (winner of the Joe Shuster Award for Best Comic for Kids and listed by YALSA as a Great Graphic Novel for Teens). In 2015, he served as Cartoonist-in-Residence at the University of Windsor, the first cartoonist to be appointed so by a Canadian university. He lives and works in Stratford, Ontario, Canada.
