Transatlantic is excited to announce that the MYRCA (Manitoba Young Readers Choice Awards) 2025 Shortlist has been announced and titles from three Transatlantic clients have been nominated for the Sundogs list!

The nominated titles are: 

THE BIG STING by Rachelle Delaney.

A visit to Leo’s grandfather’s farm turns upside down when his grandmother’s beehives are stolen. A light-hearted and funny middle-grade novel for fans of Rebecca Stead and Lynda Mullaly Hunt.

Rachelle Delaney is the author of several middle-grade novels, including The Metro Dogs of Moscow, which was a CLA Book of the Year Honor Book, as well as a finalist for the Silver Birch Award and the Red Cedar Award, among others. Its sequel, The Circus Dogs of Prague, was shortlisted for the Pacific Northwest Library Association Young Reader’s Choice Award. The Bonaventure Adventures won BC’s Chocolate Lily Award in 2019, and Clara Voyant was a Chocolate Lily Award nominee. Her most recent book The Big Sting was shortlisted for the Sunshine Coast Writers and Editors Society Book Award. Rachelle is represented by Amy Tompkins.

SQUIRE AND KNIGHT by Scott Chantler.

Scott Chantler is the critically-acclaimed, Eisner-nominated cartoonist of BIX, TWO GENERALS, and the THREE THIEVES series. SQUIRE & KNIGHT marks his triumphant return to the world of all-ages fantasy. He lives and works in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. Scott is represented by Samantha Haywood.

A mysterious painting, hidden among the relics of her late grandmother’s house, leads Frida to discover a family link to a notorious unsolved crime.

Michelle Mulder is an award-winning author of many books for children, including The Vegetable Museum, Home Sweet Neighborhood, and Every Last Drop. When not writing, Michelle loves hanging out in the woods and is currently training to be a forest school mentor. They live in Victoria, British Columbia. Michelle is represented by Amy Tompkins.
